Come see what the Cardinal Swim Team is about!
Summer swim team is a one-of-a-kind experience for swimmers ages 5-18 to learn competitive stroke in a fun, social environment. Swimmers learn freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, with competitive opportunities throughout the season to test out what they’ve learned and track their progress.
Cardinal Swim Coaches guide each practice and stroke education for each swimmer, offering nine practices per week. The Coaches also offer private lessons. Throughout the swim season, social opportunities for both swimmers and families increase the fun-factor of the team. Come see what the Cardinal Swim Team is about!

Cost
Early bird dues paid through May 1st will be $115/swimmer for the first 2 swimmers, $80/swimmer for any additional family members, with a family cap of $350. Registration includes a team t-shirt and cap for each swimmer. After that date, there is a rate increase for “late registration” ($130/$90/$390), and there is no guarantee that t-shirts will be available for swimmers registering late. This price structure is the same for Chirps and swim team members. Registration will start Monday 3/20 at 8am and will be available HERE. All fees must be paid through the website. Please email swimteam@cardinalswimandtennis.com with any questions. All forms are to be submitted online this year.
Communication
Information regarding practice, meets and critical events will be sent out to parents and swimmers via email, using the contact information included in your online registration forms.
This information, along with pictures throughout the season, and other key details can also be found online at the Cardinal Swim Team Facebook page. This is a closed group – so to join, search for the group within Facebook and submit a request to join. Please note that it can take up to 48 hours for the approval.
Volunteer Expectations
The Cardinal Swim Team is primarily a volunteer organization and requires the commitment of not only the swimmer but the entire family. All parents of Cardinal swimmers are asked to volunteer at the meets during the season. Whether it’s an “easy” job or a “tough” job, your help is crucial to the success of our team. Home meets require upwards of 100 volunteers, while away meets will require less. For almost all volunteer roles, NO experience or training is necessary, however there are certain important roles (Referee, Starter, Stroke & Turn Judges) that require training through CSA (more info to come). Job descriptions are outlined in the Swim Meet Volunteers document.
A Volunteer listing will be sent out before each meet. By indicating the areas in which you are interested in volunteering in the registration document, the Swim Team Parent Board will assign volunteer spots to evenly spread the roles across the team. If your child is swimming in the meet you will be a part of the pool of volunteers in which we select. Therefore, it is important for us to know which meets your child and/or you will not attend. Sign-out sheets will be provided by the start of the season. By registering your swimmer for our team, you are committing to volunteer when needed.
We will also need assistance with other activities supporting the swim team throughout the season, everything from fund raising, organizing events, and sponsorships to name just a few. If you are willing to help in other ways, please let one of the parent reps know.

General team email – swimteam@cardinalswimandtennis.com
John Gann, Ginny Inscore, Casey Morgan, Justin Sigmon & Darrell Stultz
We are still looking for volunteers to help with things like, planning social events, sponsorships, marketing/social media, etc. If you have a talent or interest and time to help, please let one of the reps know.
Time Trials
We will be planning a Time Trial event early in the season once we have a better handle on the schedule. This is tentatively scheduled for Saturday morning May 27th during our regular practice time. At that time, we will need all of our swimmers and volunteers on deck. It is important that all swimmers attend as it establishes times for each swimmer for each event so that the coaches can place them in the right events. Additionally, we run time trials as if it were a meet, so swimmers and parents get an idea of how meets will flow, and parents practice their jobs.
Swim Suits
We would like to stress the importance that everyone try on a suit this year before ordering. Arena has changed their sizing to not have youth and adult sizes for their new lines and just has straight sizing. So, even if you have worn an Arena suit before, your sizing may be different now. We will have try-on kits before, during, and after Open House this year (starting around April 22nd). And will notify you of those try-on opportunities soon. The Swim & Tri staff will also be on site at our Open House on April 30th and can give better insight as well. The deadline for ordering suits will be May 7th to allow time for them to arrive before the first Dual Swim Meet.
- The team suits for the 2023 swim season will be new and the start of a two-year rotation.
