NEW beginning spring of 2025, Cardinal begin participating in the upstart Greensboro pickleball interclub league. The league is called, G.P.L. (Greensboro Pickleball League).
The G.P.L. matches will have 2 seasons – Spring and Fall. During each season, teams will play once a week and the season will culminate in a championship play off.

 

What is the Format for the Matches?
Matches will have six rounds of games played to eleven points. Each game (court) won, will earn your club one point. The more games (courts) you win, the more points you earn for your club. For more match format information, read the “Format” section in attached League Rules & Regulations.

What are the Levels of Play ?

 
The pickleball interclub league will adopt the PLAYTEAMPICKLEBALL rating system.  More information about this rating system can be found at the following link:

When Are Matches Played?
Thursday 9:00am: Women’s Adv Division.
Friday 9:00am: Women’s Nov & Int Divisions.
Saturday 9:00am: Men’s Low-Int, Int & Adv
 
How Will The Different Levels Be Split Up?
 
There will be three levels/divisions for the women’s league and three levels/divisions for the men’s division List below are the following divisions:
Women’s Novice Division: PlayTeamPickleball rating of 2.5-3.25
Women’s Intermediate Division: PlayTeamPickleball rating of 3.25-3.75.
Women’s Advanced Division: PlayTeamPickleball rating of 3.8 & Above
Men’s Low Intermediate Division: PlayTeamPickleball rating of 2.5-3.25
Men’s Intermediate Division: PlayTeamPickleball rating of 3.25-3.75.
Men’s Advanced Division: PlayTeamPickleball rating of 3.8 & Above

To compete in the G.P.L., players MUST have experience in playing pickleball games and be able to keep score.
How Much is the Annual Team Fee?
The annual team registration fee will be $60. This includes spring & fall.
 
Will individual Members have to pay a club team fee?
YES! Each club will charge members an annual fee of $25 to be on the club’s G.P.L. team roster. Each will be responsible for collecting the $25 G.P.L. team roster fee.
Where Can Teams and Pros See Their Match Results and Team Standing During the Season?
Once the league is rolling, simply go to the league website to view your team’s schedule, team standing and individual match results.
