Overview:
“Pickleball 101” is for players ages 16 and older who are new or relatively new (played less than 2 years) to the game of Pickleball!! Pickleball is America’s fastest growing sport!! These players want to learn how to play, advance their skill set build upon improvement!
The focus for this program is on eye-hand skill building, the basics of pickleball, rules, scoring and serving. The beginnings of gaining use of the paddle, feel of the ball and bounce, volleying, serving, dinking, groundstrokes, 3rd shot drop, and drives will all be covered. We will also go into the beginnings of doubles play and court strategies.
This class is about exposure and fun!! The outcome of this program is to introduce the players to pickleball and prepare them for pickleball league play! This program will be taught at the Cardinal Swim & Tennis on the pickleball courts. Paddles will be provided if you do not have one for the first week and paddles will be available for purchase at the pro shop this spring. Spaces are limited – so sign up early!
Timing & Commitment:
Typically offered as a 3 week session through the spring, summer and fall depending on member interest. Players can attend any of the specified days. Payment is expected IN FULL on or before the first day of class for the entire session. Clinics that are rained out will not be made up.
